As part of my Building with AI blog series, I explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the way we create, collaborate, and build businesses.

But today, I want to share a special edition. A few days ago, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Shanghai Grand Prix, an unforgettable event and a live showcase of how digital technology is revolutionizing sports, entertainment, and audience experience. jjejejje

The Shanghai Grand Prix: A Tech Showcase

The return of Formula 1 to Shanghai in 2025 after a five-year break was a national event.

Over 220,000 fans attended, with millions more watching online. But beyond the thrill of the race, what struck me was how deeply digital tech was integrated into every aspect of the event.

From massive interactive screens and QR codes granting exclusive content, to hyper-targeted campaigns on WeChat and Xiaohongshu – even the ticketing and access systems used facial recognition.

China is clearly all-in when it comes to blending tech with the user experience.

A Fully Immersive Digital Experience

On-site, the digital presence was impossible to miss.

Immersive brand booths, augmented reality experiences, interactive games – everything was designed to keep you engaged and connected through your smartphone.

One thing I loved: being able to order snacks or merch right from your seat through a WeChat mini-program, with delivery in just minutes.

Fast, seamless, and satisfying. A perfect example of phygital – blending physical and digital.

AI at the Heart of F1 Performance

But the digital strategy doesn’t stop with the fans. On the racing side, F1 is a real-world AI lab.

Every strategic decision is driven by data – tire management, weather forecasting, real-time driver behavior analysis.

Predictive algorithms have become as important as the pit crew.

And what’s fascinating is how this performance-driven AI mindset can be applied anywhere – whether you’re launching a startup, producing music, or developing content.

AI becomes your co-pilot, your co-founder, your creative amplifier.

My Personal Takeaways

As a digital marketing student, DJ, and aspiring entrepreneur, the Grand Prix left a strong impression.

This wasn’t just about “cool tech” – it was a full-on strategy.

The most visible brands were the ones crafting hybrid experiences, blending real-life interaction with shareable digital content.

I realized that digital is no longer just a tool – it’s a playground, a creative space of its own.

And in this new space, AI plays a central role: capturing attention, personalizing journeys, and boosting decision-making.

Conclusion

The Shanghai Grand Prix showed me that the future isn’t just being built in offices or in code…

It’s being built on the ground, in emotional moments, when technology elevates the human experience.

That’s exactly what Building with AI is all about: using AI to create powerful, human-centered, unforgettable experiences.
