With the explosion of the art scene in Shanghai these last years, Perrotin Gallery had to be present in China’s city of lights. After places in Paris, New York, Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo, Shanghai was the next step to reach Asia better, where the love for contemporary art is growing fast. They located their outpost in the bund area which is the most developed quarter of the city where you can find all the luxury hotels and restaurants. The space, measuring 12 900 square feet, has a red brick design that makes the difference and attracts in Shanghai. After opening with the provocative art of the belgian-born Wim Delvoye, the current exhibition of the massive Japanese artist Takaski Murakami followed.
